At the close of the membership meeting, President Bev Moberg presented the 2023 President’s Award to outgoing board member, Jane Denovchek, for exhibiting outstanding volunteer service to the Minnesota Association of Healthcare Volunteers (MAHV).  In her presentation, Bev described Jane as “…a rock, a solid foundation for our organization during these challenging pandemic years. She has not only fulfilled her designated role (president, past president) but has also been willing to assume other supportive roles (webmaster, e-news editor, Power of Connection regional committee, MAHV-elous Awards).  Always one step ahead in consideration of priorities, she has provided guidance as well as continued prompting to keep us on track. She has also continued to hold us accountable to our By-Laws and Standing Rules. Her dedication to MAHV’s Mission and Vision as well as the initiative to venture into unknown waters has provided a means for MAHV’s successful transition into technological communication via the website, online notifications and meetings.”  Jane previously served as District D chair and is a lifetime member of the Fairview Lakes Medical Center Volunteer Organization (Wyoming, MN).

This fall, CHI St Joseph’s Auxiliary recognized members who have received MAHV-elous Awards from the Minnesota Association of Healthcare Volunteers, celebrating their ongoing commitment and service  to St Joseph’s Health.

Carol Machovsky, president, has nominated several of her group’s volunteers for these state-wide awards.  She says MAHV-elous Awards are  “great way to recognize all the time and effort volunteers have spent giving back to their auxiliary and hospital. Every little bit helps and their time is precious. Whether it’s a large project you’re working on or one small task that makes a huge difference in an event, we thank YOU for your precious gift of time!”

2021 recipient Kathy Thompson expressed her thoughts about receiving the award:  “What an honor it was for me to receive the MAHV-elous Award! I was appreciative of the recognition of my donations to the activities of CHI St. Joseph Health. The notification has helped  propel me to offer more of my service to the organization in the future.”
